About

Justice Center Working Papers, an occasional papers series of the Justice Center at University of Alaska Anchorage, is designed for faculty, staff, and exceptional students from UAA to present research on issues of crime, law, and justice to the world. The series' original coordinator was Dr. Darryl S. Wood, who initiated Justice Center Working Papers in 2005.

Three types of papers are included in this collection:

  • Research findings that are in a preliminary stage that will eventually be submitted for publication in refereed journals;
  • Technical documents with an in-depth focus upon innovative research methodologies; and
  • Research reports that are primarily of interest only to researchers and practitioners in Anchorage or the state of Alaska.

These papers are presented “as is” without any formal peer-review. Readers of these papers are therefore expected to judge these papers accordingly.
