Violence against women

The Violence Against Women Act of 1994 (VAWA 1994), passed by Congress as part of the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, is a comprehensive legislative package designed to end violence against women, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and stalking. It was reauthorized in both 2000 and 2005. This and related pages serve as a resource on Justice Center, Alaska, national, and international resources about violence against women and efforts to address it.
