International organizations of indigenous peoples

  • International Indian Treaty Council (IITC) | Consejo Internatcional de Tratados Indios. An international organization of indigenous peoples from North, Central, and South America and the Pacific working for the sovereignty and self-determination of indigenous peoples and protection of indigenous rights, traditional cultures, and sacred lands.
  • Inuit Circumpolar Conference. Representing the 125,000 Inuit of Russia, Alaska, Canada, and Greenland in the international arena of environmental and social initiatives, the Inuit Circumpolar Conference holds NGO (non-governmental organization) status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council.
