Alaska Division of Elections
The Alaska Division of Elections is responsible for the planning and administration of statewide elections, as well as local and regional elections in unorganized boroughs. It also maintains the voter registration records of more than 400,000 Alaskans and processes statewide initiative, recall, and referendum petitions.

Alaska Public Offices Commission (APOC)
APOC is a state regulatory agency which upholds laws regarding the public's right to know the financial affairs of public officials, candidates for state and municipal office, and lobbyists and their employers.

Redistricting
Every 10 years, after the federal census, Alaska and other states must redraw the boundaries of legislative election districts to make them equal in population. In many states redistricting is conducted by the legislature, but Alaska's Constitution delegates this power to an independent advisory board. Its five members are appointed: two members are appointed by the governor, one by the president of the Senate, one by the speaker of the House, and one by the chief justice of the Alaska Supreme Court
