Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE)

The Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.®) progam is a copyrighted school-based drug and violence prevention education program for children in kindergarten through 12th grade. Its curriculum is delivered by uniformed police officers who have been specially selected and trained for the role. Its effectiveness as a drug abuse prevention program is questioned by some studies.
