• Alaska Sex Offender Registration, Central Registry. This database provides name, address, date of birth, photograph, and other identifying information, place of employment, conviction information, and sentence length for convicted sex offenders required to register under AS 12.63.010, Alaska's registration of sex offenders law. Links to relevant statutes are provided.

National

• Jacob Wetterling Crimes Against Children and Sexually Violent Offender Registration Act. Search for Title XVII, Crimes Against Children. This act is part of H.R. 3355, the Violent Crime Control and Law Enforcement Act of 1994, enacted as Public Law 103-322 (09/13/94). It mandated that each state create a very narrowly drawn specific program to register sex offenders, with a compliance date of September 30, 1997. The law is named after a 10-year-old boy abducted by an unknown gunman in 1989. Its amendments include its amendments, including Megan's Law (1996), the Pam Lynchner Sex Offender Tracking and Identification Act of 1996, the Jacob Wetterling Improvements Act (1997), and Jennifer's Law (1998).
• Megan's Law. H.R. 2137, enacted as Pub.L. 104-105 (05/17/96), this amendment to the Wetterling Act is a community notification law requiring the release of relevant information to protect the public from sexually violent offenders.
• Jacob Wetterling Foundation. Nonprofit foundation working on child abduction and exploitation issues and sex offender community notification laws.
• Megan's Law (New Jersey). Information from the New Jersey Attorney General about the first community notification law passed in that state in 1994.
