Aboriginal
Policing Directorate
Part of the Department of the
Solicitor General of Canada, the directorate administers First
Nations policing policy and provides national leadership regarding
the delivery of policing services for aboriginal people off-reserve.
The Directorate publishes the periodical First Nations Policing
Update and has a number of other aboriginal
policing documents available online.

- Proceedings from the Second Annual First Nations Police Governance Workshop: Solicitor General Canada, August 17-18, 1994. Topics included community policing, crime prevention, conflict resolution, training workshops, and recommendations from the previous year's workshop. Also includes the appendix "The American Justice System and American Indians: An Historical Overview," a verbatim transcript of a presentation by Joseph Myers of the American Indian Justice Center.

Aboriginal police services
- Anishinabek Police Service. Provides police services to a population of approximately 10,000 in 19 First Nations communities in Ontario.

- First Nations Chiefs of Police Assocation (FNCPA). National organization founded in 1992 to establish and promote adequete policing on First Nations territories in Canada.
