This project addresses the need to have available a standard set of protocols for sharing justice information. In recent years real progress has been made on a national level in defining/implementing the Global Justice Model (GJXDM) and its intended replacement, the National Information Exchange Model, or NIEM. Throughout this period the Alaska Justice Statistical Analysis Center (SAC) has stayed conversant with this implementation. SAC personnel are trained in both GJXDM and NIEM, and certified in the use of SEARCH's JIEM modeling software. The SAC proposes to model current Alaska documents, establish NIEM compliant XML components for those documents, and house them on its web available for download.
