As part ot its service commitment to the State of Alaska, in 2004 the Justice Center conducted a study at the request of the Child Advocacy Coalition of Homer to learn more about the homeless youth population in Homer, with the object of improving services for these youth. Specific project goals were to document the extent of homelessness among youths in Homer, to describe the characteristics of homeless youths, to assess the most relevant needs of homeless youths, to ascertain the youths’ perceptions of available resources, to identify gaps in resources, and to develop promising solutions.
