During 1997 and 1998 the Justice Center provided support
for public programming on KNBA
90.3 FM, a public radio station operated by Koahnic Broadcast
Corporation. KNBA, "Alaska's New Native Voice," provides
public programming for Native and non-Native listeners in Southcentral
Alaska.
Justice Center funding through
a gift from Cook Inlet Region, Inc., supported production and
broadcasting of the Alaska Native Justice Show, a public
affairs program broadcast each Monday on KNBA hosted by Vicki
Otte of the Alaska Native Justice Center and Mark Kroloff, General
Counsel for Cook Inlet Region, Inc., and a board member of the
Alaska Native Justice Center. Topics addressed on the Alaska
Native Justice Show have included the death penalty, domestic
violence, family youth services, law enforcement recruitment,
child support, parole and probation, Indian Country, subsistence,
and legal advice call-ins with local attorneys.
