The Justice Center performed data entry and analysis
from a public opinion survey of North Slope Borough residents
regarding services provided by the North Slope Borough Department
of Public Safety (NSBDPS), the chief law enforcement agency for
the residents of the northernmost borough in Alaska. The North
Slope Borough includes the communities Barrow (borough seat),
Atqasuk, Anaktuvuk Pass, Kaktovik, Nuiqsut, Point Hope, Point
Lay, and Wainwright. Its residents are predominately Inupiat
Eskimo. The survey was conducted to identify methods for improving
services provided by NSBDPS.
In a related project, the Justice
Center conducted a survey of NSBDPS employees.
