Under contract from the Alaska Judicial Council, the
Justice Center from 1990 to 2001 surveyed Alaska Bar Association
members about candidates for judicial positions in the Alaska
Court System and for Alaska Public Defender. The Justice Center
conducts statistical analysis of survey data. The Alaska Judicial
Council uses written reports of survey results as part of its
evaluation of candidates for judicial positions in fulfillment
of its constitutional role in the selection of new judges in
Alaska.
