Disproportionate minority contact (DMC) with the juvenile justice system

Disproportionate minority contact (DMC) refers to the disproportionate number of juvenile members of minority groups who come into contact with the juvenile justice system. States participating in the Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention Act Part B Formula Grants program, administered by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), are required to address juvenile delinquency prevention and system improvement efforts designed to reduce DMC within their jurisdictions.
