APSIN
- APSIN Redesign Project. The Alaska Public Safety Information Network (APSIN) is a statewide criminal justice information system administered by the Alaska Department of Public Safety (DPS), and serves federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in Alaska by providing access to resources such as NCIC (National Crime Information Center), NLETS (National Law Enforcement Telecommunications System), and III (Interstate Identification Index). APSIN is the central repository for Alaska criminal histories and information on wanted persons, stolen items, missing persons, protective orders, etc., and gives law enforcement authorities direct access to information maintained by the Alaska Division of Motor Vehicles such as driving records and license and registration information. APSIN is also used by other criminal justice agencies such as state and local prosecutors offices, adult and juvenile probations, corrections, and others. DPS has undertaken to redesign APSIN to improve the quality of APSIN service delivery.
